Lithium Fluoride is white colored powder with hygroscopic property having chemical formula LiF and molecular weight of 25.939 g/mol. It is utilized in formulation of molten salts, in optics for shortening wavelength of UV radiation, and to record ionizing radiation. This chemical compound has high boiling & melting points of 1676 & 845 degrees Celsius respectively and shows little solubility in water & HF and insolubility in alcohol. It is an inorganic compound having odorless nature with bitter-saline taste. Lithium Fluoride can be industrially prepared using lithium hydroxide and hydrogen fluoride.
