Sodium Bifluoride is an inorganic compound which is widely utilized in formulation of cleaning agents that are intended to be used for cleaning brick, stone, masonry, and ceramics. It can be prepared by neutralizing waste hydrogen fluoride under controlled conditions. This compound has chemical formula NaHF2 with density of 2.08 g/cm3 and melting point of 160 degrees Celsius. It also finds application in metal cans processing, for calcium ions precipitation during nickel electroplating, and for increasing corrosion resistance of magnesium alloys. Sodium Bifluoride appears as white colored solid with hygroscopic property, non flammable nature, and pungent smell.
