Fluoboric Acid is widely utilized in organofluorine chemistry for preparation of Freon, fluorocarbons, and ptfe. It also finds application for dissolving rock samples for analysis and for extraction of organic fossils from silicate rocks. Having chemical formula HF(aq), it appears as colorless solution with water miscibility. This acid can be prepared by treating fluorite with calcium sulfate.
